S&S Power Switchgear Equipment Limited (SSPSE) specialises in Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) Disconnectors. With a legacy spanning five decades, we have honed our expertise in designing and manufacturing critical components that ensure the safety and reliability of power systems worldwide. We are a subsidiary of S&S Power, backed by its global engineering and technology expertise.
Our product range includes HV Disconnectors (36kV to 765kV) and Earthing Switches (up to 765kV) adhering to IEC standards. We also provide retrofit solutions for ageing equipment in commissioned substations, evaluating outdated components for replacement, modification, or reuse to align with current technological standards. Our Technical Services offer rigorous certification, testing, and on-ground support, while our Spare Part Service ensures the longevity of units.
With a global footprint spanning over 50 countries, SSPSE has successfully installed more than 50,000 disconnectors and 20,000 earthing switches. Our products undergo extensive type-testing in accredited laboratories.

Inception of S&S Power by Sethuraman & Shanthanakrishnan based in Chennai
1978
Porur factory commissioned, Started commercial production of: Pantograph type & Centre Break & Double Break Isolators for EHV systems (66KV to 400KV)

Acquisition of S&S Power by the Jalan Group

Ajay Kumar Dhagat
Chairman of the Board
Ajay Kumar Dhagat brings over 40 years of deep domain expertise in the Transmission & Distribution industry, General Management, and Business Leadership. He has held senior leadership positions including Country President and Managing Director of AREVA T&D India and President of IEEMA.
His international experience includes handling the Asia Pacific region for Alstom T&D while based in France, bringing valuable cross-cultural business expertise to his role. He is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Jabalpur.
Ashish Jalan
Ashish Jalan is an accomplished entrepreneur with a career spanning 35 years. Ashish has a keen eye for emerging technology and has excelled in various industries, leaving a lasting impact.
Ashish is deeply committed to technological innovation and drives advancements in the field of aluminium process automation as the Founder and Director of Hamilton Research and Technology Private Limited.
Krishnakumar Ramanathan
Krishnakumar Ramanathan is a seasoned leader in the industrial products sector with over three decades of experience. He is the Managing Director and Group CEO of S&S Power Switchgear Limited, a company with over 60 years of legacy. Under his guidance, S&S Power continues to excel in providing reliable disconnectors, protection & control panel solutions in the transmission and distribution (T&D) sector and retrofit solutions for aluminium industry globally.
Previously, Krishnakumar served as CEO of Siemens Large Drives India, overseeing medium-voltage motor and drive production
N Balasubramanian
N. Balasubramanian (Balu) brings over three decades of rich experience in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry. As the Director and CEO of SSPSE and APIL, he oversees the acquisition side of the business and ensures seamless execution across projects. Before joining us, he served as Business Leader at Sertel and has held leadership roles at GE, Siemens, and L&T, where he developed deep expertise in Sales Management, Project and Contracts Management, Operations Leadership, and P&L Management.
His tenure at Siemens also included international exposure in Global Project Management in Germany, strengthening his global perspective and execution acumen. An alumnus of IIM Bangalore’s General Management Program, Balu is known for his strategic vision, operational excellence, and people-centric leadership. His passion for innovation and developing talent continues to drive our organisation’s mission of achieving sustainable growth and leadership in the power sector.
Sankaran Ramamurthy
Sankaran Ramamurthy, a seasoned industrial automation leader, served as the Director of Commercial at S&S Power Switchgear Equipment Limited. With over three decades of experience, he has a proven ability to deliver results, having successfully led a $30M operation and generated over $100M in sales and business development across diverse industries.
Previously, Sankaran was Business Manager at Baker Hughes, a GE company. He successfully grew the Terminal Automation System (TAS) and Metering Solutions in the Oil & Gas business, expanding operations into MENAT markets. His extensive experience spans variable
speed drives, inverters, electrical switchgear, and turnkey electrical projects. He has forged strong relationships with key PSUs and government companies, delivering tailored solutions for various industries.
