Sankaran Ramamurthy

Sankaran Ramamurthy, a seasoned industrial automation leader, served as the Director of Commercial at S&S Power Switchgear Equipment Limited. With over three decades of experience, he has a proven ability to deliver results, having successfully led a $30M operation and generated over $100M in sales and business development across diverse industries.

Previously, Sankaran was Business Manager at Baker Hughes, a GE company. He successfully grew the Terminal Automation System (TAS) and Metering Solutions in the Oil & Gas business, expanding operations into MENAT markets. His extensive experience spans variable
speed drives, inverters, electrical switchgear, and turnkey electrical projects. He has forged strong relationships with key PSUs and government companies, delivering tailored solutions for various industries.

He has also served on the board of GE’s Indian entity, bringing valuable corporate governance experience to his current role.

During his extensive 24-year career at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), he served as Sr. Deputy General Manager – Metals, leading a team of engineers. Throughout his tenure, he developed a robust track record in project management, successfully designing
and commissioning numerous complex industrial projects across multiple sectors.

His management style encompasses a culture of empowerment and accountability, coupled with a strong focus on HSE and quality standards with zero tolerance for compliance violations. Sankaran’s strong technical foundation and leadership philosophies drive excellence
at S&S Power Switchgear Equipment Limited.

He is an electrical engineering professional, having graduated with B.E. Honours in Electrical & Electronics from the University of Madras.
